After we’d given up on the Kickstarter and polished the script as best as we could, we didn’t know what else to do with Houseboat. Luckily, a few of us involved had just worked on a movie with a musician who was interning at a studio in Nashville. He said he could get us in to play some music for free, and he shows up on sax in this video.
I’ve played drums since I was about 12, and in our group we had a bassist and guitarist, so we thought why not make the official Houseboat On Terror Lake theme song? I then mixed footage from the studio with some test footage we shot (with guts falling out!) and some video from an actual houseboat on an actual lake (which belonged to a friend of a friend) to make this video.
It’s goofy, it’s fun, and it’s exactly the vibe the movie will have, when we someday make it and win a lot of awards and money.
